We would like to have a cheeky drink during the day! How can we travel safely to each location? We hear you! Cheers! We know that you may want to enjoy a glass of bubbles, local wine or cocktail - or all of the above! On the day of our wedding, we will be organising a shuttle bus. It will be going to Keremeos, Cawston and Osoyoos. We advise that you stay close to Stef's house in an Airbnb. The drive is along a motorway and therefore is NOT SAFE to walk! If you prefer to drive, that is totally okay too. Please let us know where you will be staying in the area. We want you to get back safe and sound!

How do I find the famous Stef Laramie's House?Look for the ELVIS SIGN along the Crowsnest Highway! Whilst we have written 172 Sumac Road for Stef's home address, her actual address is 199 Hwy 97, Cawston, BC, V0X1C3. This can be a little tricky to find on Google maps, so it might be easier to follow the route to 172 Sumac Road and we can direct you with fun wedding signs! When finding the Elvis sign, it is an immediate right turn past the "No Trespassing" sign. Keep following the road along until you reach the final house.

Are we going unplugged?YES! Please, no phones during our ceremony and please resist throughout the day. We want everyone to be present with us. Our dear, incredibly talented, photographer (and friend) Bobbi will be there to capture it all. Everyone will have the chance to meet her on the Friday night at the wine tasting. Ask her where she's travelled to! ;) endless chats and love all around. She's terribly cool and we know you'll love her.

The Okanagan sounds beautiful but huge! How long should we stay for? There are many beautiful things to see and explore in the Okanagan. Although it is impossible to see it all in one trip, we recommend that you stay about 10 days to truly appreciate the local beauty around. Our wedding will be on the 7th June (Saturday) and so five days either side would be perfect.

What's the tipping culture like in Canada? It is polite to leave a 15% tip in Canada. Some may tip between 18-22%, but it is not mandatory. Please be aware that taxes are not included in prices when shown but are added onto the total when ready to pay.

I've not met anyone before! Is there an opportunity to meet and greet?Yes! Fear not. We are so excited for people to be travelling from all over the world to join us on our special day, however, we know you might not know everyone there. We are organising a "rehearsal wine tasting" the afternoon before - Friday, 6th June, 3pm, at Clos de Soleil. It is one of our favourite wineries in the area (Keremeos) and a great place for us all to get to know each other's friends and family. Please do join us for this!

I've never been to Cawston before. How do I get there from the UK/ Ireland?Cawston, British Columbia, lies within the territory of the Smelqmix (Similkameen) Nation, specifically, the area of the Lower Similkameen Indian Band. The band currently has almost 500 members. Cawston is located on Highway 3 (the Crowsnest Highway) nearby communities are Keremeos (8 km to the West), Osoyoos (36 km to the East), and Penticton (50 km to the North). There are two ways. We recommend either flying into Calgary, Alberta, then a connecting flight to Penticton. The drive from Penticton to Cawston (Keremeos) is about 40 minutes OR Flying directly to Vancouver and staying overnight. Hire a car from Vancouver and drive to Cawston (Keremeos), roughly about 4 - 5 hours. It is almost a straight road for the entire drive!

What is the weather like in Cawston? Is there a dress code for the wedding?June in Cawston is usually a warm summer's day. The ground could be quite dry, so please be careful with open flames. We highly recommend wearing a light material suit or dress (cotton or linen) to be completely comfortable. We are having a small and intimate ceremony - we want our guests to choose whatever they are comfortable in! However, please, no white! :) PLEASE NOTE! From Stef's house, we would be over the moon should you join us for the walk down to the ceremony at Forbidden Fruits and then back up for the cocktail hour. We will be a small group and it would be a beautiful opportunity for photographs. The walk is about 40-45 minutes (at a slower speed). Please wear comfortable shoes for the day, or bring your heels for later! Cawston is technically located in the desert of BC. The trail and road might be a little dusty and some off the old beaten track to say. We will be providing parasoles for each couple to have protection from the sun. Please don't forget to bring suncream and mosquito spray! For those who wish to drive from Stef's to the ceremony and back, parking is available.

I'd love to hear more about Cawston and Keremeos! The name Keremeos (/kɛrəˈmiːəs/) originated from the Similkameen dialect of the Okanagan language word "Keremeyeus" meaning "creek which cuts its way through the flats". This refers to the Keremeos Creek which flows down from the Upper Benchlands to the Similkameen River flowing past the village. Both Cawston and Keremeos are located on or surrounded by band land. Please be respectful of locals and the beautiful environment. Cawston is located just outside of Keremeos, and many drive into Keremeos for food shopping, local groceries and restaurants. The population for Cawston is 956 and Keremeos 1,500. With a "Wild West" look and feel, both villages have so much to offer. However, please be aware that shops, restaurants and liquor stores likely close around 5-6pm. Local pubs can open until 12am. Our favourite local markets are Parsons, Sandersons, Bears and Klippers. All of them thrive throughout the summer with locally grown produce. The peaches and sweetcorn are to die for. We invite you to stargaze one of the evenings you are here. It is like no other - with such clear skies and stunning starry night views for miles.
